Fixing My Recurring Memory Problem

One thing has annoyed me for a long time: my house software runs out of memory whenever it has to compile something bigger in the background.

That mostly hits when I build firmware for my own sensors or when a heavier add-on kicks in. The system slows down or the build simply fails.
