Turning Things Off When Nobody Is There
The cheapest kilowatt hour is the one you never use. Most of my energy savings come from devices simply switching off when nobody needs them.
For this one I built a slightly more involved automation. It runs through n8n, a tool that chains steps together visually, and uses an AI step to judge whether a room is really empty.
The result is quiet: things go off overnight and I do not have to think about it.
